Kasauli is one of the nearest place to visit from Chandigarh. People prefer to visit there after the hectic schedule of their office to get refreshed on weekend. It was one of the cheapest and full of nature place to visit. Spending a weekend their helps to refresh and come back to your daily routine life. Main attractions in Kasauli are:
- Manki Point – Hanuman Temple
- Gilbert Trail
- Sunset Point
- Christ’s Church
- Local Market
I also used to visit Kasauli very often to break monotonous routine and it always went well. And my recent visit was also very good But on the other side, heavy on my pocket too and its not that simple anymore.
Kasauli tourism has been handed over to private contractors. Due to this, small trip become costlier for the visitors. Spending so much for approx. 5 kms area is not worth.
Few points which made this trip costlier:
- Firstly if you have your own vehicle, you have to pay entry fee of Rs 130. In this, you will get free parking in the starting of the Kasauli market for just 4 hours.
- You are not allowed to enter your vehicle in Kasauli market anymore until you have military pass or local pass.
- You need to take the cab to visit the places like Manki point and Sunset point. The Cab prices are way to high. For 1 hour you must pay Rs 580 and for 3 hours Rs 1050.
- After paying so much you have to walk, due to security reasons cab will drop you much before the destination. So, paying cabs such an amount is not worth.
- In case, you want to stay in Kasauli, after 4 hours they will charge you Rs 20 per hour for parking. For example, If you spend 24 hours there, you must pay Rs 400 extra for parking.
So, the simple mind refreshing trip would become heavy on your pocket and it is not recommended to spend so much for approx. 5 kms.
